Giant Cushion Star

If you are looking for a comfortable place during your visit, make sure not to confuse the Giant Cushion Star with a cosy pillow.

With its pentagonal, puffed up shape, the Giant Cushion Star looks like a pillow, but it is a starfish and can be found on coral reefs and in shallow waters in the Indo-Pacific.

Giant Cushion starfish grow up as males, are mature at the age of two years and change to females at the age of four!
They are found on reefs in shallow waters.
They feed on detritus and small invertebrates, including stony corals.
Many species of this starfish put their stomach out while eating and digest food outside their body.
