Sonnenblumen Seestern

Sunflower star

The Sunflower Starfish shines, as his name intends, in summerly colours like yellow and orange. Its habitat is the Pacific Ocean near Alaska and Southern California.

Not only his colours are remarkable: The Sunflower starfish can have up to 24 arms and move at a speed of one metre per minute, which makes it one of the fastest of its kind.

The Sunflower Starfish is part of our special exhibition in 2013
