Questions & Answers about Birthdays at the AquaDom & SEA LIFE Berlin.
For which age group is the birtday at the SEA LIFE suitable?
Children aged between 4-11 years will have the most fun.
But of course it depends also on the particular interests of your child and can still be very engaging for older children.
Is the visit influenced by weather?
Not really, as the birthday can be celebrated in the SEA LIFE aquarium regardless of the weather. Our exhibition is completely housed within the building. More general information on our facilities >
What is happening on the day?
On the booked date and time please proceed to the group entrance. You will pay there and then be lead to where you receive the introduction greeting for the birthday group (only possible if your group is on time). At the entrance you will also give the “treasure” to our staff that you would like to have hidden in the treasure chest.
After the introduction follows the exciting treasure hunt through the SEA LIFE aquarium. Your visit will last an average of 1.5-2 hours.
On the way from the aquarium to the AquaDom you will pass through our gift shop. Since this is in any case on your way, it’s best to plan in time for the children to have a look around.
Will the children be looked after by SEA LIFE personnel?
No, the birthday group will be welcomed by our staff but then they will go on the treasure hunt on their own – you as the parents of the birthday child will have to watch them. But do not worry; the treasure hunt should keep your kids busy.
You may book an extra guided tour, where a SEA LIFE employee will accompany you and the children and tell them interesting bits and pieces.
What does the exclusive guided tour include?
The guided tour takes about 60 minutes.
It includes the introduction to the treasure hunt and a complete tour through the SEA LIFE centre with interesting information about the underwater world.
Please ensure, that you ask specifically for an English tour when booking, if you would like one.
Is it possible to hold a themed birthday party?
Although we do not organize themed birthday parties, they can take place at our aquarium. Just make sure your invitations include that all children should come dressed up, for example as jellyfish, starfish, nemo fish, other marine life or even as pirates!
You may also like to book the „pirate make-up and pirate hat (cardboard) for only an extra €2.00 per person and dress up the children for their pirate adventure in the SEA LIFE aquarium!
Can the children eat at the SEA LIFE centre?
Yes and no, unfortunately we have no restaurant in our SEA LIFE, but right next to it is one called „Andy’s Diner“ and you can book a special birthday meal there as part of your birthday package (see below).
For hygienic reasons, the Aquarium itself has a strict no eating or drinking policy considering your own food. If you would like to bring your own, please eat it outside.
What does the meal package „Andy’s Diner“ include
The meal at Andy’s Diner is €8.00 per person (including the birthday boy/girl).
The diner will provide pretty birthday decorations on the resevered table for you and your party.
You will be served the "Kids Box" containing:
- Chicken Nuggets
- French Fries
- Drink (Capri Sun)
- Little toy (surprise)
If one of your party would prefer not to eat the Kids Box, s/he can order off the menu.
Please note: If you have booked meal at Andy’s Diner, please let the person at the entrance till know, so your table can be decorated and be ready. This part of the birthday you will also have to pay for directly at the entrance - if you order of the menu as well, this will have to be paid at the diner.
Are there gift bags or anything similar?
Yes and no, in the standard package, souvenirs are not included.
But you may book "treasures" for the treasure chest for €5.00 per person, if you do not want to bring your own to hide in there. This “treasure” includes key chains, bouncy balls and wall walker (content may vary).
You may of course bring your own treasure for the chest, just make sure you hand it to the staff before the birthday starts so it can be hidden.
Alternatively, you can of course plan to buy little souvenirs for the kids in the shop after the treasure hunt.
May I take pictures of the birthday party?
Yes, certainly you can take pictures in our aquarium. However, please ensure the flash is turned off as many marine animals are very sensitive to bright light.

How much does a birthday at SEA LIFE cost?

Is there a minimum number of participants?
Yes, the minimum number of participants in the SEA LIFE Berlin are five children (not including birthday child).
Is the reservation request binding?
Yes, your reservation is binding. But if you change your mind, just make sure you inform our support in time, so it can be cancelled. You can reach the booking hotline at + 49 (0)1805-66690101 (14 Cent / Min from German landline, German mobile max. 0.42 € / min.)
How do I book?
If you already know exactly what to include your child's birthday party, then you can send a reservation form request online. Please indicate any additional requests in the comment box there. If the desired date is still free, you will receive a confirmation notice from our service center, otherwise they will suggest an alternative date. Please make sure you add your phone number so they can call you in that case!
