Since 1979, SEA LIFE has taken each and every one of its visitors on a fascinating journey of freshwater and marine life. Seeing the magic of the deep up close makes for the most spectacular underwater experience there is. And it is still as popular as ever.

While our breathtaking displays are reason enough to visit, there's so much more to the national SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham. We are masters of entertaining and educating and we play a huge part in the conservation of some of nature's most beautiful creations through breeding Seahorses, raising money for Zakynthos Turtle sanctuary and providing ‘Sustainable Good Fish Guides’ to our guests.

But it’s our fantastic dedicated teams, be they working front of house or behind the scenes that create the magical memorable experiences that remain with our guests for years to come.

Very few of our roles (such as Aquarist or Displays Team Member) require qualifications related to the ocean and its inhabitants; for the majority of roles we can teach you about our creatures, conservation and the environment. What we cannot teach you is a natural enthusiasm for customer and guest care, something that all members of our teams carry by the bucket load.

If you are as passionate about the ocean as we are and feel that you could create and deliver the best in memorable experiences you may see yourself in any of these roles:

Conservation successes

Aquarist

Our displays live and breathe, so they’re not your normal attraction. We look to our Aquarists to maintain excellence in display presentation throughout all public and behind scenes areas of our displays. You’ll support the Curator and the rest of the Displays team in animal husbandry, while playing a huge part in the development of our amazing displays area.

Commercial Assistants

While our displays are among the most breath-taking our visitors will ever see, we do all we can to create an attraction they’ll never forget. Our Commercial Assistants ensure that all of our guests have the opportunity to take away a souvenir of their visit from any of our commercial units.

Guest Experience Assistants

Our Guest Experience Assistants provide a first class experience to the visitor through interaction and the provision of the quality entertainments and feeding programmes. They are responsible for presenting, maintaining and taking care of the touch pools, public talks, taking care of our school groups and general information to the visitors. The team strive to deliver a totally immersive experience and educate all of our guests (and that includes the adults!) through fun learning.
