Cleveleys beach clean

The SEA LIFE Cleveleys Beach Clean
We have adopted Cleveleys beach! Our team run regular beach cleaning outings, and have found a pattern of rubbish left on the beach. The causes of pollution on our beaches are many fold and include sewage and wastewater being diverted directly into the ocean, industrial Waste, oil pollution, atmospheric deposition, marine dumping, radioactive waste, underground storage leaks and global warming.
During peak tourist season we have found a high level of sweet wrappers & plastic bottles. Out of the main tourist season there is a high level of polystyrene fish & chip boxes, fishing line & rope. We have even found a Christmas tree!
When there is a lot of rain there are lots of sanitary products & cotton buds. These don’t biodegrade and further emphasises that they should be binned not flushed.
