SEA LIFE Helsinki - 10th anniversary
The whole year 2012 is dedicated to the celebration. The last Sunday of every month the exhibition will change into a giant Jelly Disco and for the actual birthday 18.6. there will be a party 10 days in a row 9.-18.6.2012!
Throughout the year we will also be remembering the old exhibitions and happenings in SL’s history.

Here below is a list over the exhibitions and other happenings in SL throughout the years:
SEA LIFE Helsinki, opened its doors to the public 18.06.2002. The largest stars of the newly opened attraction were the nurse sharks Bill and Ben and the Porcupine fish Saara.
The first changing exhibition was the Kingdom of Seahorses that we were able to enjoy the years 2002-2003. The exhibition was filled with super sweet sea horses and a huge seahorse statue an absolute favourite of the children.
In 2003 the area around the ocean tank was renewed and a jellyfish exhibition was built, which entertained the audience until the autumn 2008.
Claws arrived in 2004, this was the first time Japanese Spider Crabs was seen in Finland.
In 2005-2006 there was a octopus exhibition with vey interactive animals. The exhibition was filled with interesting and talented characters like Irmeli the giant octopus.
In 2006 the beginning of the exhibition was turned in a rainforest adventure. New stars were poison dart frogs, piranhas and arowanas.
Venomous animals filled the center in 2007-2008 in an exhibition called Venom. The visitors got to know the sea snakes and the stonefish Lordi.
The year 2007 was also a little sad, because the super-popular nurse sharks Bill and Ben had grown too large to their tank and moved to Germany, to the Sea Life centre in Oberhausen.
In 2008, the end of the exhibition was renewed to a winter scenery to the delight of tourists and the exhibition was named the Ice Age.
In 2009 the centre underwent a massive transformation, when the entire ocean tank and its surroundings were renewed with a theme of ancient seas. A skeleton of an elasmosaurus was put inside the ocean tank, partly also outside. The sweetest animal of the whole exhibition Sweetie was pretty amazed. She also received some new alien like friends, bonnethead sharks.
In 2010, SEA LIFE Helsinki created a brand new changing exhibition called Sea Senses. The visitors learned how sea animals hear, taste and see. The star of this exhibition was Raipe the electric eel.
Crabs returned to the center in 2010 in the new Crab Attack exhibition. The Japanese Spide Crabs were also back together with coconut crab Roope.
The exhibition of this anniversary year is Jellyfish Discovery starring jellyfish of course.
