Shark Week on 22.10. 4.11.2012!
SEA LIFE Helsinki has celebrated Shark Week every October since 2004. The Shark Weeks are held to remind all visitors of the uniqueness of sharks. Sharks has been dominating the world oceans for more than 400 million years.
In the past five years, SEA LIFE celebrated Shark Week together with the European Shark Week arranged by Shark Alliance, a global, not-for-profit coalition of non-governmental organisations. Shark Alliance is dedicated to restoring and conserving shark populations by improving shark conservation policies.
Growing interest in European shark weeks has raised general awareness of shark welfare across Europe. Shark Alliance believes it is time to stop merely raising the awareness and inspire people to actually take action on behalf of sharks.
