£580 raised for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society!
The 4th – 10th February 2012 was Whale Week here at SEA LIFE London Aquarium.
We had a whale of a time celebrating all things ‘cetacean’ in order to raise awareness for the devastating consequences of illegal whaling, marine litter and pollution, bycatch and the cruelty of keeping whale and dolphins in captivity. With the emphasis firmly on family friendly entertainment, everyone got stuck into some fantastic arts and crafts and joined our Guest Experience Assistant team in playing some great whaley games!
By the end of the week our ocean area ceiling was swimming with these beautiful origami whales!
Thank you!
A big thank you to everyone who got involved! If you would like to find out more about whale and dolphin conservation or how to make your very own origami dolphin then visit the WDCS website.
Walk for Whales
But we’re not done there! With this years ‘Walk for Whales’ coming up on Sunday 8th July there is still plenty of opportunity to get involved! Join the WDCS and SEA LIFE for a fun family five mile walk to help stop commercial whaling!

Our Winners
Congratulations to 10 year old Luke Hollifield who won our Whale Art Competition when he designed this fantastic ‘Combat Whale’!
Luke won a WDCS Whale Adoption Pack!
We think this brightly coloured hula dolphin, designed by Maia Leslie-Miller, would enjoy our new Hawaiian beach themed area, Shark Reef Encounter.
We will be sending Maia a Sea Happy Goody Bag!
