Porcupine Pufferfish
Porcupine Pufferfish are medium to large sized fish, and are found in shallow temperate and tropical seas worldwide.
They can be found among coral reefs, rocky shorelines and sandy flats, dieting on mainly molluscs and crustaceans. Pufferfish have the ability to inflate their body by swallowing water or air, therefore becoming more round in order to scare off potential predators. They also use their sharp spines to ward off these unwelcome visitors.
This species is poisonous to eat, with their poison causing paralysis and even death.
