Coconut Crab
The Coconut Crab is the biggest land-living arthropod and crab! He can reach an impressive leg span of 1 m.
A Coconut Crab is so called due to its power of being able to crack open a coconut with its claws! Nevertheless, coconuts do not make up a big portion of their diet.
The Coconut Crab is part of our 2012 special exhibit "Claws" >
