Regional conservation project
The SEA LIFE Oberhausen is committed to the reintroduction of the European pond turtle. Together with NABU Rheinland-Pfalz, we want to re-populate the formerly native animals in our region. For this they are bred and released at about an age of four years into suitable waters in the wild.
