Local Conservation: European Pond Turtles
SEA LIFE Speyer is committed to the reintroduction of the European pond turtle. European pond turtles are among the rarest of animal species in Germany. Together with NABU Rheinland-Pfalz, we want to re-populate the once native animals in the region. For this they are bred and released to freedom after about four years into suitable waters. Until then, our visitors have the opportunity to watch them at the SEA LIFE aquarium. Learn more about these cute animals worthy of protection and support this important project through an adoption.
