Sea Life Has New Man At Helm

(06/06/2011)

There is a new pair of hands on the tiller at Weymouth Sea Life Park.

Former Warwick Castle operations chief Craig Dunkerely has taken over as General Manager.

Aged 34, Craig qualified as a sports coach at Warwickshire College, but instead went to work at the Castle as food and beverage manager.

He ended up spending 14 years there, but in 2009 moved to become operations director at Chessington World of Adventures.

“I was fascinated by everything that went on at Chessington Zoo,” he said, “and when the Sea Life attraction arrived I realised that marine life was just as fascinating.”

Though only days into his new role, Craig is confident he made the right decision when he accepted the offer to take charge at the Sea Life Park.

“I have a great team here and we have bold and exciting plans to develop the Park in the coming years, and I really love the area,” he said.

A sports enthusiast who represented Warwickshire Under 16s at cricket, Craig is currently enjoying exploring Weymouth and surrounding area by bicycle.

Craig has settled into a new home on Green Hill, Weymouth.
