Visitor Highlights

Did you know we love dogs! Dogs are always welcome at the Sanctuary provided they are kept on a lead. We've even been named by Cesar as being a top dog friendly attraction. Click here to see what they have to say about us!

Eating & Drinking at The Seal Sanctuary

Gweek Cafe

The Seal Sanctuary Cafe is situated within our grounds and serves a selection of hot and cold snacks and drinks; on sunny days you can make the most of the weather with our outdoor seating area and sometimes we'll even light the BBQ!

Planning for a rainy day?

Here at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary we don't let a little rain stop us having a blast. There's lots of amazing things to do here on a rainy day, so grab those welly boots and join in the fun!

  • Splash in puddles

  • Catch water on your tongue

  • Have a hot chocolate in our café… with extra marshmallows and squirty cream of course!

  • Watch our Penguins from our under water viewing area... you stay dry, they get wet!

  • They don’t call it duck weather for no reason. Spot our waddling friends on the estuary.

  • Shake your tail feathers like a wet penguin

  • Feed the fur seals, they don’t let a little rain stop them having blast.

  • Try worm charming

  • Sing “I’m Singin’ in the rain”

  • Go squirrel spotting in our woods

  • Have a raindrop race

  • Have a water fight

  • Make a mud pie

  • Smell a plant. They let out different smells in different weather!

  • Find a frog, snail, slug, toad, or newt. They love the rain.

  • Dance in the rain

  • Chase raindrops down the window

  • Dig a hole

  • Have a welly hunt

  • Show off a new rain coat

  • Find a new den and watch the rain

  • Watch mum and dad get wet

  • Do a sun dance
