giant pacific octopus

Common Octopus

Octopus are very clever animals, in fact they are the most intelligent of all invertebrates, and are as smart as a dog! Put that together with their amazing agility and you’ve got an animal that finds it easy to escape! We will have to keep our wits about us!

In the wild the common octopus eats small fish called Sprats and soft crabs. They have no bones but do have a beak in the middle of their arms which is very powerful.

Things to Do:

  • Discover how our Octopus likes to decorate his home
  • Find out why his favourite food is shell fish & crustaceans
  • Learn all about why he lives with us
  • See his long arms grabbing and touching all around him!
