Smoothhound

This seabed shark lives in coastal waters above sand and mud at a depth of 5-300m.

Smoothhounds hunt crabs, molluscs and bottom-dwelling fish at night. They are viviparous and the gestation period is around 10 months. Pregnant females can be found at any time of year.
