Work Experience

Are you interested in a future career working with marine life? Why not come and gain some hands on experience at SEA LIFE Brighton!

Life at the aquarium is busy, ever changing and totally unpredictable. We can never guarantee what you will be doing on your work placement, however we will endeavour to give you as broad and interesting experience as possible.
We will tailor each placement to meet your individual learning requirements. 

To be considered for a work experience placement please send your CV and covering letting by email stating when you wish to do your work experience and what you are hoping to gain from it.

 

Animal Husbandry Experience:

You must be 16 years old and interested in studying towards an animal care qualification. You must commit to at least 15 days (spaced at regular intervals i.e. 1 day a week for 15 consecutive weeks or in a block of weeks i.e. 5 days a week for 3 consecutive weeks). Due to the physical nature of this role and access behind the scenes, please mention any accessibility or special requirements that you may have. Education team/ Entertainments Work Experience:

For anyone aged 14 years +. A typical day on the guest experience team includes getting stuck in with everything which you would see as a guest going through the aquarium. Learn how to interact with guests and deliver creature talks. Email: helen.fitzgerald@merlinentertainments.biz

Customer Service/ Commercial Work Experience:

Suitable for people aged 14 years + in school years 10/11 or studying travel & tourism. Email: nestor.middleton@merlinentertainments.biz 

 

Our aim is to ensure your placement is both completely flexible and totally beneficial to you – so whatever it is you want to gain experience in, just let us know! We will do everything we can to help you get the most from your time with us.

 

Please note: We get a lot of requests for May - July and while we will do everything in our power to fit you in, sometimes it won't be possible.
