Our
Creatures

It’s playtime!

Penguins are some of nature’s most playful animals.

Whether it’s whooshing across the ice on their bellies or diving beak-first into the sea, penguins love to have fun.

Penguins live in the Southern hemisphere, where their black and white pattern helps them blend in with the icy water – and keep safe from predators.

There are 17 different species of penguin. Right now, overfishing and global warming means they’re struggling to find food.

Our aquariums help breed king penguins, gentoo penguins and Humboldt penguins. They might even say hello on your next visit!

Visit your local SEA LIFE website to find out more.
