Sea Turtle Rescue Contest

Win a FREE field trip!

Help protect and save sea turtles by reducing, reusing and recycling. Collaborate as a class to create a Sea Turtle Rescue Center themed piece of art made from litter or reused plastic bags, lids, straws and other unsafe materials that are harmful to sea turtles.

  • Classes must work together to create a Sea Turtle Rescue Center inspired project made out of reused harmful materials (straws, lids, plastic bags, plastic bottles, fishing line, nets).  
  • Project should include what the item is made of and the reasoning for the creation. These can be presented in written form, or by video submission.
  • Projects should be submitted to with the subject titled “ Teacher name – School – Sea Turtle”
  • The winning class will receive a free field trip for their entire grade level with exclusive behind-the-scenes experience and have their winning build placed on display in the aquarium!

Two classes will win. One winner from selected grade levels.  ( K- 2nd, and 3rd – 6th)

Important Dates

  • Classes may begin submitting their projects September 10, 2018
  • The contest will close November 2, 2018
  • The winning class will be announced November 16, 2018

The field trip must take place between January 21, 2019 to May 31, 2019  (Black out dates include : April 9, April 10, May 13, and May 14)

Underwater Pumpkin Carve-Off

October 17, 20, 24, 27 and 31


It’s hard enough carving Halloween pumpkins on dry land, let alone submerged in a 160,000-gallon ocean tank surrounded by sharks, rays, sea turtles, fish and other marine life.

Watch as animals get in on the action as divers compete in underwater pumpkin carve-offs.

(11:30 a.m. on scheduled days.)


Scout Days

All October long!

All month long area Boy and Girl Scout members can simply wear their scout uniform and/or show their scout identification at admission to receive a special ticket price of $12 (walk-up tickets only) – no minimum group size needed! Pick up a one-of-a-kind SEA LIFE Grapevine scout patch, but make sure you complete an attraction activity sheet!
