Do you already know in which waters rays live? They can be found in all oceans around the world, some species also in the deep sea.
With over 500 species, they represent more than half of the cartilaginous fish species. Rays have a strong, flattened body and large pectoral fins, which are adherent to the head. The mouth, nostrils, and five pairs of gill slits are at the flattened bottom side which is often more pale than the top side.
