Lumpfish

  • SEA LIFE Timmendorfer Strand, North Sea and Baltic Sea

About the lumpfish

  • The lumpfish becomes 40 to 70 cm long and weighs 1.5 to 3 kilograms. The females always become bigger than the males!
  • Their diet consists mainly of small fish, crustaceans, molluscs and jellyfish.
  • Unfortunately, the lumpfish is not a particularly good swimmer. This makes themselves a popular food source, for example for seals.
