Due to the Tidal Surge in December 2013, Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary is temporarily closed for refurbishment.
Official Statement (April 2014)
In December of last year Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary fell victim to the tidal surge that spread across the East coast.
More than 3,000 fish and creatures were evacuated to other SEA LIFE Centre’s around the UK, with SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth housing a significant amount of these until the sanctuary can reopen again.
Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary received a wealth of support from both the local community and it’s parent, Merlin Entertainments plc. A result of this has meant that all of our animals are doing incredibly well and have now settled into their new homes.
The Hunstanton team are working around the clock to refurbish the entire Sanctuary. At the date of publication of this statement (10th April 2014) the drying process has completely finished with the core construction beginning to take place.
Currently, there is no confirmed opening date but please bear with us whilst we are undergoing this refurbishment. We appreciate your continued support at this time and look forward to welcoming you back to our brand new home.
