- All you need to bring is a towel and swim wear
- You will need to complete a liability release form** which you can download and complete before you arrive at the attraction.
- Participants must be at least 8 years of age
- Please make sure you arrive in time for your dive
- Prescription glasses and contact lenses are allowed
** A fully written 'no' or 'yes' is required for each question. If the answer is yes, it does not necessarily exclude you from Sea Trek but you must have the form signed and stamped by a doctor before participation. Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What sort of experience is required to try SeaTREK®?
A. Can you walk? Can you breathe? That's all you need to be able to have the experience of a lifetime with SeaTREK®. SeaTREK® was purposely developed for those who would like to safely explore underwater without the investment of precious holiday time in specialist training.
Q. Are there any age restrictions?
A. It is available from the age of 8 upwards and if you are under 18 you will need a parent or guardian's consent. Once you have completed the medical form you can SeaTREK®.
Q. How long is the SeaTREK® experience?
A. The entire SeaTREK® adventure is conducted in approximately one hour, including orientation and approximately 10 minutes of underwater exploring.
Q. How safe is SeaTREK®?
A. Safety is our number one top priority. Some noteworthy safety features of the SeaTREK® Helmet Diving System include: 3 times the amount of air needed for normal breathing is delivered to the helmet; Sub Sea Systems have conducted over 1 million incident-free experiences to date; all tours are led by trained SeaTREK® professionals; to further enhance the safety aspect of the experience, SeaTREK® is conducted in depths of less than thirty feet. Q. How do you breathe and is it difficult?
A. Breathing in a SeaTREK® diving helmet is no different from how you breathe every day. The air is clean breathable air from our specialised compressors and you have three times as much as you need.
Q. What do I need to bring?
A. Swimwear and a towel is all you need, everything else including wet suit and shoes will be provided to you on site giving added comfort and protection.
Q. What if I become uncomfortable below the surface?
A. Our primary goal is to see that you have a safe and enjoyable experience. Our certified SeaTREK® divers are always nearby and your air supply is constantly monitored by our surface attendant. This activity is conducted at your level of comfort. If you do wish to stop at any time this is fine and we can exit you safely without fuss.
Q. Will there be a guide while I'm diving?
A. Always - but not just a guide - a thoroughly trained and certified professional diver, there are always two divers and a surface attendant, all of whom have first aid certificates, current medicals and are fully qualified for sea trek systems.
Q. What about the pressure build-up in my ears?
A. Equalising is done the same way you would on an airplane. You can yawn, swallow, and easily reach inside your Sea Trek helmet to equalise pressure changes at various depths. This will all be demonstrated in the safety video.
Q. Can I wear my prescription glasses with the SeaTREK® helmet on?
A. Yes, you can wear your prescription glasses and contact lenses. We only ask you remove any jewellery (a tight fitting wedding band is OK) in case it comes off in the tank, we want to ensure our animals don’t ingest it and become ill.
Q. Can I participate in SeaTREK® if I'm pregnant?
A. If you are in your first trimester of pregnancy, and have no other health related concerns, you may participate in Sea Trek.
Q. My friend wants to watch me do SeaTREK® through the viewing window. Do they need to buy tickets to the attraction?
A. Yes, if your friend has not booked to participate in a SeaTREK® then they need to buy a ticket to enter the attraction and watch you participate. Once they are inside they are welcome to take pictures of you doing your SeaTREK® - just remember to switch the flash off your camera as it can harm our creatures.
