The large red scorpionfish (Scorpaena scrofa) lives in the mediterranean sea and the north-eastern atlantic ocean.

The scorpionfish is a lurker with perfect camouflage. It is most often found on rocky, algae-covered grounds. It usually remains motionless on the bottom, where it lurks well camouflaged for prey.
