About the compass jelly

  • The long tentacles of the compass jellyfish are coiled in a spiral and can cause skin irritation and irritation in humans due to their stinging venom. The tentacles are white, yellowish or orange in colour, rarely also brown.
  • The umbrella diameter of this jellyfish can grow up to 35cm and is said to resemble a compass rose.
  • It moves particularly gracefully by pulling its umbrella together and simultaneously expelling water downwards.
