Who is SEA LIFE Loch Lomond for?

SEA LIFE Loch Lomond is predominantly aimed at children aged 3 - 10 year olds, but is suitable for everyone.

Are there any age restrictions?

SEA LIFE Loch Lomond is suitable for everybody however if you are under the age of 16 you will need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 and above. You may be asked to produce I.D upon arrival to prove your age so please ensure you have this handy to avoid disappointment.

Do your prices differ online to what they are on the day?

Yes. Tickets purchased online in advance offer a fantastic saving of 25-30% depending on the date of your visit.

Do we accept promotional/discounted vouchers?

We do have vouchers that are accepted with different discounts and offers. Please read all Terms and Conditions thoroughly prior to your arrival. Vouchers and promotional deals can only be used when purchasing full priced adult tickets on the day here at the aquarium. Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any online or telephone bookings and cannot be used with any other promotional offers or deals. You must have a printed copy of your voucher and any other required items. We will decline to accept the voucher if all relevant items are not present. 

How can I use my Promo code online?

If your voucher contains a promotional code you can use this in the online booking engine.

If using a desktop computer or mobile device click into the general admissions ticket which will take you to the booking engine.

Click the "menu" button on the left hand side of the screen and enter the promo code into the top box and press the grey arrow button to bring up the tickets relevant to the promo code.

Do Blue Peter badge holders get free entry?

Yes you do, if you have a blue peter badge and your blue peter card to go alongside it you will receive free entry when visiting with a full paying adult on the day. The adult you visit with will need to purchase a full priced adult ticket and show the blue peter badge to then get you in for free. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers or deals or in conjunction with advanced bookings. Please arrive on the day with your badge and ID card + one full paying adult to get your entry.

Please note from 1st of January 2017 Merlin Entertainments will no longer accept Blue Peter badges.

Do I need to print my tickets?

You do not need to print your tickets, you can just show your email confirmation/barcode on your phone or tablet.

Where can I purchase/book my tickets?

You can pre-book online or on the day here at SEA LIFE Loch Lomond. Please note that tickets booked online cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or deal such as 2-4-1 vouchers.

What happens if I can’t make it on the day I have pre-booked tickets for?

Tickets are only valid for the pre-booked date selected, if you are unsure of the date of your visit we offer a flexi-ticket which can be used on any day within 12 months from the date of purchase.

 

I have booked online and been charged twice, what should I do?

I have booked my tickets for the wrong day, what should I do?

Tickets are only valid on the date they have been pre-booked for. If you have booked for the wrong date please contact scottishsealifemarketing@merlinentertainments.biz or call us on 01389 721500 (office hours Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm)

What is the policy for visitors with a disability?

There is no disabled rate but if you are registered disabled you will be entitled to admit one free carer with you. Please ensure that you bring documentation with you on the day such as your blue badge, DLA Letter or note from a doctor or specialist. If you are booking online in advance, you do not need to book a ticket for your carer.

How long will it take me to visit view the whole attraction?

On average it will take you 1.5 to 2 hours to enjoy the full experience of SEA LIFE Loch Lomond. However this depends completely on you and how long you would like to enjoy our underwater world.

Can we touch the creatures?

For the health and safety of you and our animals, we ask that you do not touch any of our animals unless invited to by a member of staff. We have a rock-pool display where you are welcome to touch our starfish and other creatures under the supervision of our fully trained staff.

Are there any creatures we can feed?

There are many feeds and talks that you can watch but unfortunately we do not allow customers to participate. Please view our Talks and Feeding times page for information on all the feeds and talks we do daily.

We offer a VIP feeding experience with our collection of sharks. These are £40 per person and take place every other day, please call the centre on 01389 721 500 (office hours Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm) to check dates & availability. For more information or to purchase a sharkfeed, please visit our Experiences page within the Discover tab on the website.

Am I allowed to take photos at SEA LIFE Loch Lomond?

Yes, you can, as we want you to take your memories of our creatures home with you! However, we do not permit the use of any flash photography as this can scare, harm and even blind our creatures. The use of tripods is also not permitted and if you wish to use a tripod you will need to arrange this with our marketing team.

Is there anywhere to store my belongings or pushchair?

We unfortunately do not have any cloakroom facilities for you to be able to store your belongings. We do have an area where you can leave your pushchairs but as this is unsupervised and unsecured any belongings left there are at the owner’s own risk. Please ask a member of staff for more information. 

Do you have a gift shop?

We do have a gift shop and this is located at the exit of SEA LIFE Loch Lomond. This is also accessible without entry to the SEA LIFE Loch Lomond itself. 

Is there anywhere to eat lunch at SEA LIFE Loch Lomond?

We have a coffee shop located on the third floor of the building which serves sandwiches, paninis, soup, baked potatoes and hot dogs. Your ticket is also valid all day so you are able to exit to use the picnic spaces within the National Park. If you are a school group, please call us to discuss use of our school room for lunch.

What happens if I need to leave before the end of my visit?

All tickets are valid for the whole day, so you are free to enter and exit at your leisure. Please ensure your however that your hand is stamped before exiting so that you can gain re-entry.

Is there a place for nursing mothers?

Currently we do not have a place designated for nursing mothers; however staff on the day will be only too happy to assist you in finding somewhere private if needed.

Do you allow pets in the aquarium?

Pets are not permitted in the building. Guide dogs are however welcome.

Can I Volunteer Or Do Work Experience At SEA LIFE Loch Lomond?

Yes, however spaces are limited so we recommend applying early to avoid disappointment! These programmes are for students who are studying a relevant course, such as Marine Biology, and are undertaking a relevant research project. How do I apply for a position?

Having conducted a search click on the role in which you are interested, you will then be able to read the relevant job advert.

If the job sounds like the one for you, click on the ‘apply now' button. You will then be able to complete the application form on-line.

Our vacancies change frequently so please don't give up if your dream job isn't available now! If you are interested in a position at one of our other attractions you can search for their current vacancies by clicking on the logos below to go to their individual websites.

Can I send you my CV for you to place on file?

Due to data protection legislation we do not accept any speculative applications. Should you send us your information we are required to destroy it. We advertise all of our vacancies online so please do check back regularly for roles that may interest you!

What happens once I apply?

You will automatically receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your application. You can then expect to hear from us again within the next 14 days.

Will I know if I have been unsuccessful once I have applied?

Yes – we will contact you either way to confirm whether or not you have been successful.

What is the selection process?

Successful applicants will be required to attend either an assessment centre and/or an interview.

What happens at an assessment centre?

This varies role to role though you will be required to complete short exercises in teams and attend an interview. This is the ideal opportunity for you to find out more about what it is like to work for us, and for us to find out more about you.

They are designed to help us select the right people for the business, and should also be enjoyable for you too!

What is the dress code at the assessment centre?

We'd say smart/casual but remember you're trying to make a good first impression!

What happens after an assessment centre or interview?

Once again we will contact you to confirm the outcome.

What is the dress code?

Within our customer facing roles you are required to wear a uniform. We operate a fairly flexible policy on dress code in all non-uniform areas. In some roles you may even get the chance to wear a costume!

Shifts vary according to the position and department. These will be agreed at the recruitment stage.

Without a doubt the roles can be very hard and demanding - it takes a special kind of person to be as friendly and positive at the end of the day as they are at the beginning!

What is the company social scene like?

All attractions have their own social clubs and hold social events throughout the year.

Will I get free tickets?

Yes! Employees are issued with a pass enabling them, their friends and family to experience many of our fabulous attractions and theme parks.

I need a work permit to work in the UK. Can I still apply?

Eligibility to work in the UK is a prerequisite for employment with Merlin. You will need to provide proof of right to work in the UK when you come in for an Interview.

Are there any age restrictions?

There are certain requirements for different roles, at each attraction. Generally you have to be at least 16 years old or above to apply.

For some roles, such as in Security, you'll need to be 21 or over to satisfy our insurance requirements.
