About sea anemones

Anemones, which belong to the group of flowering animals, are fascinating sea creatures. They are semi-sessile, which means that they can move by crawling very slowly. Some anemone species also form symbiotic relationships with other animals, such as anemonefish and partner shrimps.

The photo shows the fish-eating sea anemone. The fish-eating sea anemone is a species of sea anemone and reaches a diameter of up to 30 centimetres. It has a strong nettling poison that also kills fish. Only one species of fish is spared: the anemone guardian. It swims and rests between the tentacles without being injured or caught by them.
