- Every child knows the carp, right? It is one of the most famous fish species in Europe and a popular food fish. The carp is often farmed in fish ponds for this purpose.
- Wild carp live in shallow, warm waters. To hibernate, however, they stay in deeper areas of lakes and rivers to protect themselves from frost.
- Carp feed on plankton, small insects, and larvae. Occasionally, large carp were observed eating smaller fish like predatory fish.
