FAQs

Located at American Dream in East Rutherford, NJ! Plan ahead with some of our most frequently asked questions below.

Planning A Visit

To ensure our guests have the best experience possible, we limit the number of visitors that can be in SEA LIFE at one time. The best way of ensuring your entry is by reserving your tickets online (while receiving special online discounts)!

American Dream offers convenient parking to all guests. The first hour of parking is free, and after that, it costs $3.00 per vehicle throughout the day. On stadium event days, we highly recommend parking in Decks B / C Level 1 and take the walk bridge to Deck A, then enter American Dream through the entrance doors on Level 1/ Deck A. Please plan to bring your parking ticket to SEA LIFE Aquarium. We will validate your ticket to the standard parking rate, not the stadium event rate. Visit American Dream’s website for information. You can also visit the MetLife Stadium event calendar for a list of upcoming events.

Visits to New Jersey SEA LIFE Aquarium are not guided. The typical visit takes 1-2 hours, but you are welcome to stay for as long as you wish.

We do not allow outside food or beverage, unless caring for babies or food allergies in children.

Yes, we are fully accessible for visitors with disabilities and wheelchair users. We do not provide wheelchair or stroller rentals at our attraction.

SEA LIFE New Jersey is taking all possible steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests, staff and creatures as needed, and are following the local safety regulations in place. This includes limiting capacity, requiring face coverings for staff, and ensuring social distancing through various signage and monitoring staff.

Consistent with updated guidance from the state of New Jersey and the CDC, face coverings for guests who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required as of May 28. We still strongly recommend that all guests (ages 2+) wear a mask and maintain social distance.

Enhanced cleaning measures will also be implemented throughout the day to clean and sanitize the aquarium including high-frequency touch points and play areas.

Tickets

To ensure our guests have the best experience possible, we have limited the number of visitors that can be in SEA LIFE at one time. All guests buying tickets online OR at the door will be required to make a reservation for an entry time.

Advanced Purchase - Best Value and Guaranteed Entry (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

  • Purchase tickets online here.
  • Upon your arrival to SEA LIFE, you will enter the "I Have Tickets" line at the start of your reservation.
  • Please note during peak periods such as holidays, Spring break and Summer there may be a small wait upon entering the reservation line.

Walk-Up Purchase

  • If you purchase tickets at the door, you will be required to reserve the next available time slot. You will enter the 'I Have Tickets' line at the start of your reserved entry time. The only way to guarantee your entry is to reserve your tickets online.
  • Please note, during peak times, we may sell out of walk-up tickets. The only way to guarantee your entry is to purchase your tickets on advance online.

Once inside, stay as long as you like.

When booking your ticket you will be asked to select a date and time for your arrival. This helps us make your experience more enjoyable by reducing queue times, speeding up your entry in to the attraction and reducing crowding. Once inside the attraction, you may stay as long as you like!

If you have purchased tickets during the soft launch of the pre-opening phase running now through June 14, we can't wait to welcome you to the City Under the Sea during the date & time noted on your ticket!

Limited tickets are available during the soft launch, so we highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance to guarantee your time slot. Tickets may be purchased here.

For the best price, book online at least 24 hours in advance of your visit.

Reserved tickets are any tickets purchased on our website, at SEA LIFE, or from a third party.

Unreserved tickets are those bought on the day of your visit using a coupon or discount at the door. Also, guests that are a half hour late or more for their reservation are required to use this line as well. Unreserved tickets enter the Center as soon as possible when there are open reservations.

To ensure our guests have the best experience possible, we limit the number of visitors that can be in SEA LIFE at one time. There are 30 minute windows between reservation times to control capacity in the attraction.  This creates a better experience for all our guests!

During peak times, you may experience a short wait in the "I Have Tickets" line as guests enter SEA LIFE.

Guests that are a half hour late or more for their reservation will enter the "I Have Tickets" line, but may experience a longer than usual wait time.
