About Phelsuma madagascariensis

  • Phelsuma madagascariensis is a species of gecko that lives in Madagascar.
  • Like many other geckos, Phelsuma madagascariensis has adhesive toe pads. This means that they can even walk with their feet on very smooth surfaces such as glass. For us it looks like they stick to the wall!
  • It is predominantly green, but can also be dark green or even turquoise.
  • Geckos can shed their tails when in danger, which will continue to tremble for a while. Thereby the geckos confuse their enemies and use the time to run away.
