About the cod

• The cod - or codfish - is found in the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
• It is one of the most important food fish. In the past there were large quantities of cod in the Atlantic, but today the stocks are endangered by overfishing.
• Also with the codfish, there are "house-stools" and wanderers: Some groups always remain in the same habitat, while others undertake amazingly long journeys and never return to their birthplace.
