Dive dive dive with the MCS!

*We have been participating in a Sea Search thorough the Marine Conservation Society (MCS). Sea Searches involve diving along the coastline to identify local species & breeding grounds. It is a project for volunteer sports divers who have an interest in what they're seeing under water, want to learn more and want to help protect the marine environment around the coasts of Britain and Ireland. *
The main aim is to map out the various types of sea bed found in the near-shore zone around the whole of the Britain and Ireland. We are also recording what lives in each area, establishing the richest sites for marine life, identifying sites where there are problems and the sites which need protection. The sea bed is under threat for many different reasons: habitats are being destroyed, creatures are being over fished or accidentally caught and pollution, sewage, and over exploitation are causing declining populations.
