Explore the SEA LIFE marine world with a dedicated member of staff and learn about what goes on behind the scenes. The day includes activities such as seahorse and turtle feeding!

Come and help prepare food for our animals and feed our rays, sharks and turtles. Enjoy a VIP tour and glass bottom boat experience. This amazing opportunity is regularly priced at £130 but for a limited time only, it's £99! We also offer a half day option at a cost of £60.00.

There is lots of fun to be had on a Fish Keeper day; it's a great chance to learn more about the sea creatures and what goes on at SEA LIFE.

Fish Keeper days can be booked for anyone aged 8 and over, subject to availability.

  1. Bookings are subject to availability – please give 4 possible dates in order of preference on your booking form. Every effort will be made to give your preferred date but this may not always be possible.

  2. SEA LIFE Keeper days costs £99.00 (Special offer price; normal price is £130) and must be paid in advance to secure your booking. This can be done by cheque enclosed with your booking or in person at the centre.

  3. There is minimum age of 8 for all SEA LIFE Keeper visitors due to Health & Safety reasons.

  4. Your tetanus vaccination must be up to date.

  5. You may bring one guest along free of charge with the SEA LIFE Keeper. Additional guests will pay normal admission. Normal opening hours are 10am, last admissions at 5pm in summer; 4pm in winter. Additional family members are not permitted behind the scenes.

  6. Family members can meet with the SEA LIFE Keeper on their breaks. (Around 12:00 – 12:30 and 15:00-15:30 or an hour from around 12:00-13:00 can be arranged) please let the supervising member of staff know on the day if you would like to arrange this. Otherwise breaks will be taken in the Centre café/Staff room with the supervising member of staff (please bring a packed lunch or lunch money).

  7. No chewing of gum is permitted in the public areas.

  8. Jewellery must be kept to a minimum.

  9. Cameras and notebooks can be brought along to keep a record of your day, at your own risk. Please follow Aquarist’s instructions regarding camera use in the centre.

  10. Please wear black trousers and dark sensible shoes. A polo shirt will be provided. In the event of cold weather please bring a black fleece or jumper.

  11. Smoking is not permitted in the centre.

  12. Long hair must be tied back.

  13. Cancellation policy is as follows –

a. Provided we are given at least 14 days notice of cancellation a 50% refund will be applicable.
b. If we are given less than 14 days notice we regret that no refund is possible.

Terms and conditions

  1. All participants in the scheme must be at least 8 years of age or over

  2. Cover existing cuts and abrasions on exposed skin with waterproof dressings and the disposable gloves provided.

  3. Smoking is not permitted in the centre and eating and drinking is only allowed in our designated café area.

  4. Hands must be washed at every opportunity, especially before eating, drinking and before leaving SEA LIFE.

  5. You must remain in close contact with the Aquarist you are working with and not wander off.

  6. You must not enter any behind the scenes area without specific instruction from your Aquarist

  7. You must not touch any creatures unless told that it is acceptable to do so by the Aquarist

  8. If you take breaks or lunch apart from the Aquarist you must arrange to meet again in a public area of the centre at a set time.

  9. No Jewellery other than ear studs is permitted. Long hair must be tied back. High-heeled shoes must not be worn.

  10. Any accident or injury must be reported to the aquarist immediately so that appropriate action can be taken and first aid provided.

  11. In the event of an emergency you must follow the instructions of the Aquarist. If you become separated leave the area by the nearest emergency exit and make your way to the assembly point on the beachfront.

  12. Junior Aquarist Risk Assessment must be signed.
