Who is SEA LIFE Brighton for?

SEA LIFE Brighton is suitable for everyone but is predominantly aimed at families with children.

Are there any age restrictions?

SEA LIFE Brighton is suitable for everybody however if you are under the age of 14 you will need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 and above. You may be asked to produce I.D upon arrival to prove your age so please ensure you have this handy to avoid disappointment.


Do your prices differ online and on the telephone to what they are on the day?

Yes. Tickets purchased online in advance save over 40%! Tickets start from just £10.50 per person. Tickets must be booked at least 1 day in advance to take advantage of these prices. Tickets purchased online on the day of the visit will be charged at our standard entry price per person. 

Ticket prices start from £18.50 per person off peak on the day.

Do we accept promotional/discounted vouchers?

We do have vouchers that are accepted with different discounts and offers. Please make sure that you read all Terms and Conditions thoroughly prior to your arrival. Vouchers and promotional deals can only be used when purchasing full priced adult tickets on the day here at the aquarium. Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any online or telephone bookings and cannot be used with any other promotional offers or deals. You must have a printed copy of your voucher and any other required items. We will decline to accept the voucher if all relevant items are not present.

Carer Tickets

There is no disabled rate but if you are registered disabled you will be entitled to admit one free carer with you. Please ensure that you bring documentation with you on the day such as your blue badge, DLA Letter or note from a doctor or specialist. If you are booking in advance, you do not need to book a ticket for your carer.


Where can I purchase/book my tickets?

We have many different options for booking and purchasing tickets. Please note that tickets booked online and via our bookings and information line cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or deal such as 2-4-1 vouchers.

What happens if I can’t make it on the day I have pre-booked tickets for?

If you are unable to visit on the day you have booked for we can re-validate your tickets for you however there will be a £5.00 administration fee charged per booking. I have double booked by mistake, what should I do?

If you have double booked please make sure that you have the card that was used to make the booking and your double booking will be refunded at our ticket office. I have booked my tickets for the wrong day, what should I do?

How long will it take me to visit view the whole attraction?

On average you will spend around 1.5 to 2 hours to enjoy the full experience of SEA LIFE Brighton however this depends completely on how long you would like to stay – once inside you can stay as long as you like!

What happens if I need to leave before the end of my visit?

Once inside at SEA LIFE Brighton, you can stay as long as you like and you are free to enter and exit at your own leisure as tickets are valid for the whole day. Please do ensure that your hand is stamped before exiting so that you can gain re-entry.

Where do I need to queue?

When you arrive you will find that we have a general queue line for our ticket office (those who need to buy tickets or redeem Annual Passes) and a priority queue line (those who have already booked tickets). Depending on which ticket you have purchased/wanting to purchase will depend on where you need to queue. Please ask one of our very friendly members of staff who will be more than happy to assist you and show you which queue to join.

Can we touch the creatures?

For the health and safety and welfare of both you and our creatures, we ask that you do not touch any of our animals unless invited to by a member of staff. We have a rock-pool display where you are welcome to touch our starfish and sea anemones under the supervision of our fully trained staff.

Are there any creatures we can feed?

Yes, we have VIP Shark, Turtle and Ray Feeding Experiences which allow you to feed our amazing creatures. To book and for more information, please click here. There are many other feeds and talks that you can watch but not participate in too. Please view our Talks and Feeding times page for information on all the feeds and talks we do daily.

Am I allowed to take photos at SEA LIFE Brighton?

Yes you can as we want you to take your memories of our creature’s home with you, however we do not permit the use of any flash photography as this can scare and harm and even blind our creatures. The use of tripods is also not permitted.

Is there anywhere to store my belongings or pushchair?

We unfortunately do not have any cloakroom facilities for you to be able to store your belongings however we do have a free buggy park located opposite the toilets.

Do you have a gift shop?

We do have a gift shop and this is located at the exit of SEA LIFE Brighton. To contact our gift shop please email your query to brightonsealifecentre@merlinentertainments.biz

Can I eat and drink once inside SEA LIFE Brighton?

We have a Coffee Shop located in the Victorian Arcade opposite the Ray Pool where you can buy snacks and refreshments. You can stay as long as you like at SEA LIFE Brighton so you are welcome to exit to eat and then re-enter at your own convenience.

Is there anywhere to eat lunch at SEA LIFE Brighton?

There are tables and chairs for you to eat your lunch at if you have bought snacks and refreshments from our SEA LIFE Coffee Shop. Eating and drinking is not permitted around the Aquarium other than the designated areas. If you are a school group, you are encouraged to eat your packed lunches in our seated auditorium or even on the seafront on a nice day!


Will I get in the water during the Feeding Experiences?

No. All feeding experiences take place on a platform over or next to the displays.

Can we watch someone take part in a feeding experience?

No. Due to space limitations there are no spectator tickets available for the Feeding Experiences.

Do I need to wear anything special for the Feeding Experiences?

No however we advise that you wear suitable shoes that you will slip in and clothes that are comfortable and that you do not mind getting dirty - just in case!


Can I do my Work Experience at the SEA LIFE Brighton?

Yes we offer work experience programs in a variety of different roles and these are extremely popular, so we advise applying early to avoid disappointment! To be considered for work experience please send a CV and a covering letter by email stating when you wish to do work experience and what you are hoping to gain from it.

Creature Work Experience (Displays): You must be over 16 years old and interested in studying towards an animal care qualification. You must commit to a minimum of 15 days (spaced at regular intervals i.e. 1 day per week for 15 consecutive weeks or in a block of weeks i.e. 5 days a week over 3 consecutive weeks). Due to the physical nature of this role and access required behind the scenes, please mention any accessibility or special requirements that you may have. How do I apply for a position?

Will I know if I have been unsuccessful once I have applied?

What is the selection process?

Successful applicants will be required to attend either an assessment centre and/or an interview.

What happens at an assessment centre?

This varies role to role however you will be required to complete short exercises in teams and attend an interview. This is the ideal opportunity for you to find out more about what it is like to work for us, and for us to find out more about you. They are designed to help us select the right people for the business, and should also be enjoyable for you too!

What is the dress code at the assessment centre?

We'd say smart/casual but remember you're trying to make a good first impression!

I need a work permit to work in the UK. Can I still apply?

Eligibility to work in the UK is a prerequisite for employment with Merlin Entertainments. You will need to provide proof of right to work in the UK when you come in for an interview.

Are there any age restrictions?

There are certain requirements for different roles, at each attraction. Generally you have to be at least 16 years old or above to apply. For some roles, such as in Security, you'll need to be 21 or over to satisfy our insurance requirements.
