Beach Cleans

At SEA LIFE Benalmádena we want to help clean up our local beaches for a better environment for all!

Help preserve the world´s oceans

Five things you can do to help at home

  1. Only buy fish from a sustainable source. For years we´ve been catching fish faster than nature can replace them. Always check that your seafood has been sustainably caught.
  2. Use a " bag for life" not a plastic bag. Thousands of our favourite sea creatures including sea turtles die every year by choking on plastic bags.Dispose of your plastic bags correctly so they don´t find their way into the ocean, or use a reusable bag instead.
  3. Take everything away with you after you´ve had fun at the beach. Make sure you always put your litter in a bin or take it home. You can also help by joining a local beach clean.
  4. Never buy things made from endagered or wild animals. Millions of seahorses are killed every year and sold as souvenirs for use in traditional medicines.
  5. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!. Just by following these basic rules, every one of us can make a difference!.

Stay Sustainable

Only buy sustainably sourced seafood. To help, find and use a sustainable seafood guide and look out for sustainability information on seafood packging.

How can we help?

By keeping our beaches clean we can keep harmful materials away from marine animals. Our beaches – and the creatures that live on or near them - are threatened by sewage and wastewater being diverted directly into the ocean, industrial waste, oil pollution, marine dumping, atmospheric deposition, radioactive waste, underground storage leaks and global warming.
