Meet one of the ocean's best known and loved fish...
In the Kingdom of the Seahorse zone, you can come nose-to-fin with some incredible underwater species including the popular Clownfish and Dory!
Take a peek and you will see the coral reef; a kaleidoscope of colour, bustling with activity! These cities of the sea are teaming with fish which come in every shape, colour and pattern you can imagine. This is the home of our cute Clownfish hiding in the tentacles of Sea Anemones!
Did you know?
- Surprisingly, all clownfish are born male. They have the ability to switch their sex but will do so only to become the dominant female of a group. The change is irreversible.
- Male Clownfish are very devoted parents. They look after the eggs, fanning them to keep them oxygenated. They will chase away fish much bigger than them and even square up to inquisitive scuba divers to protect their young!
- There are 28 known species of anemonefish, most of which live in the shallow waters of the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, and the western Pacific. They are not found in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, or Atlantic Ocean
