Who is SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth for?

From the smallest of children, to the oldest of adults, there is something for everyone at SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth.

Are there any age restrictions?

SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth is suitable for everybody however if you are under the age of 14 you will need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 and above. You may be asked to produce I.D upon arrival to prove your age so please ensure you have this handy to avoid disappointment.


Do your prices differ online and on the telephone to what they are on the day?

Yes. Tickets purchased online in advance start from a fantastic 30% saving.

Do we accept promotional/discounted vouchers?

We do have vouchers that are accepted with different discounts and offers. Please read all Terms and Conditions thoroughly prior to your arrival, as there are vouchers that are accepted in all SEA LIFE Centers and Sanctuaries with the exception of SEA LIFE London Aquarium. Vouchers and promotional deals can only be used when purchasing full priced adult tickets on the day here at the aquarium. Vouchers can not be used in conjunction with any online or telephone bookings and can not be used with any other promotional offers or deals. You must have a printed copy of your voucher and any other required items. We will decline to accept the voucher if all relevant items are not present. 

Do you accept Love To Shop Vouchers?

We do accept Love to Shop vouchers when purchasing your tickets on the day but cannot issue any change if the amount is less than the voucher value. Please note that Love to Shop vouchers can only be used to purchase entrance tickets.

Can I pay with supermarket points?

You are able to pre-purchase your tickets at a discounted rates using your Tesco Club Card or Nectar Card by visiting either the Club Card or Nectar Card website.

How can I use my 2-4-1/ Promotional voucher online?

Your promotional or 2-4-1 vouchers unfortunately cannot be used online or in conjunction with online purchases. Your vouchers can only be used when purchasing full priced adult tickets on the day here at SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth.


Where can I purchase/book my tickets?

We have many different options for booking and purchasing tickets. You can pre-book online, via our bookings and information line on 01493 330631 or on the day here at SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth. Please note that tickets booked online and via our bookings and information line cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or deal such as 2-4-1 vouchers.

Do you accept American Express or Maestro Cards?

Yes, we accept both of these cards.

What happens if I can’t make it on the day I have pre-booked tickets for?

All tickets booked must be used within 7 days of the booked date. Tickets are non-refundable.

I have booked online and been charged twice, what should I do?

If you find yourself in the position, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01493 330631 and ask to speak to a duty manager in order to resolve the issue.

I have booked my tickets for the wrong day, what should I do?

If you find yourself in the position, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01493 330631 and ask to speak to a duty manager in order to resolve the issue. Please note that tickets are non-refundable.


How long will it take me to visit view the whole attraction?

On average it will take you 1.5 to 2 hours to enjoy the full experience of SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth. However this depends completely on you and how long you would like to enjoy our underwater world.

Can we touch the creatures?

For the health and safety of you and our animals, we ask that you do not touch any of our animals unless invited to by a member of staff. We have a rock-pool display where you are welcome to touch our starfish under the supervision of our fully trained staff. 

Are there any creatures we can feed?

Please see the premium experiences section of our website. This can be found under the "discover" part of the navigation bar.

There are many other feeds and talks that you can watch but not participate in too. Please view our Talks and Feeding times page for information on all the feeds and talks we do daily.

Am I allowed to take photos at SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth?

Yes you can as we want you to take your memories of our creature’s home with you, however we do not permit the use of any flash photography as this can scare and harm and even blind our creatures. The use of tripods is also not permitted and if you wish to use a tripod you will need to arrange this with our marketing team.

Is there anywhere to store my belongings or pushchair?

We unfortunately do not have any cloakroom facilities for you to be able to store your belongings, this includes pushchairs and mobility scooters. 

Do you have a gift shop?

We do have a gift shop and this is located at the exit of SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth. This is also accessible without entry to the SEA LIFE Great Yarmouthitself. To contact our gift shop please email your query to

Can I eat and drink once inside SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth?

Eating and drinking within the aquarium is not permitted so therefore please do not bring your own snacks and refreshments with you. Your entry tickets are valid all day however so you can exit to eat and then re-enter at your convenience.

Is there anywhere to eat lunch at SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth?

We do have facilities where you can buy a range of food, ranging from hot meals to Pastries. 

What happens if I need to leave before the end of my visit?

All tickets are valid for the whole day, so you are free to enter and exit at your leisure. Please ensure your however that your hand is stamped before exiting so that you can gain re-entry.

Is there a place for nursing mothers?

Currently we do not have a place designated for nursing mothers,  however staff on the day will be only too happy to assist you in finding somewhere private.


Can I propose to my partner at SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth?

We do have a proposal package where you can book this experience.

Will I get in the water during the Feeding Experiences?

No. All feeding experiences take place on a platform over the tank.

Can we watch someone take part in a feeding experience?

Yes, however there is limited space and this needs to be booked in advance.

Do I need to wear anything special for the Feeding Experiences?

No. You need only wear shoes that you will not slip in and clothes that are comfortable and that you do not mind getting dirty - just in case!

Can I send you my CV for you to place on file?

Due to data protection legislation we do not accept any speculative applications. Should you send us your information we are required to destroy it. We advertise all of our vacancies online so please do check back regularly for roles that may interest you!

What happens once I apply?

You will automatically receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your application. You can then expect to hear from us again within the next 14 days.

Will I know if I have been unsuccessful once I have applied?

Yes – we will contact you either way to confirm whether or not you have been successful.

What is the selection process?

Successful applicants will be required to attend either an assessment centre and/or an interview.

What happens at an assessment centre?

This varies role to role though you will be required to complete short exercises in teams and attend an interview. This is the ideal opportunity for you to find out more about what it is like to work for us, and for us to find out more about you.

They are designed to help us select the right people for the business, and should also be enjoyable for you too!

What is the dress code at the assessment centre?

We'd say smart/casual but remember you're trying to make a good first impression!

What happens after an assessment centre or interview?

What is the dress code?

Within our customer facing roles you are required to wear a uniform. We operate a fairly flexible policy on dress code in all non-uniform areas. In some roles you may even get the chance to wear a costume!

What is the company social scene like?

All attractions have their own social events throughout the year.

Will I get free tickets?

Yes! Employees are issued with a pass enabling them, their friends and family to experience many of our fabulous attractions and theme parks.

I need a work permit to work in the UK. Can I still apply?

Eligibility to work in the UK is a prerequisite for employment with Merlin. You will need to provide proof of right to work in the UK when you come in for an Interview.

Are there any age restrictions?

There are certain requirements for different roles, at each attraction. Generally you have to be at least 16 years old or above to apply.

For some roles, such as in Security, you'll need to be 21 or over to satisfy our insurance requirements.
