SEA LIFE Brighton’s resident octopus, Pumpkin, has become an overnight sensation after using her eight tentacles to play with giant LEGO® blocks in her tank.
The bricks were given to Pumpkin as part of the new nationwide LEGO® adventure, Ocean Explorers, which is taking place at SEA LIFE centres across the country this summer.
On the Ocean Explorers adventure you can discover curious creatures of the deep as you navigate through the trail to find hidden LEGO® pieces in the mystery tanks. Successfully solve the challenge to become a certified SEA LIFE Junior Diver and receive your own LEGO® diver mini figure to take home.
Delve into the brick pits in the centre’s event zone, to build with LEGO® and use step by step guides to create fun sea creatures, or simply let creativity takeover to build unique creations.
You will also have the chance to enter the LEGO® Ocean Explorers competition at SEA LIFE centres across the country and one lucky winner will be chosen every week to win a National SEA LIFE Annual Pass. Keep an eager eye on the competition as all entrants will be in with a chance of winning the grand prize, a family trip to Florida with entrance and a stay at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort.
Dr Kerry Perkins, Aquarist at SEA LIFE Brighton, said:
“Pumpkin was originally given LEGO® to play with as part of her enrichment activities to help keep her senses sharp and tentacles moving. We spotted she was creating some special builds so wanted to make her an official Octo Builder.
“Having eight tentacles certainly comes in handy when playing with LEGO®, and our visitors have been wowed by her skills as they’ve made their around our Ocean Explorers trail this summer.”
Visit SEA LIFE Brighton to take part in LEGO® Ocean Explorers. Running until Sunday 2nd September, this fun and educational experience is perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
