See turtles and various animals during feeding time at Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World

Bangkok is a diverse and dynamic city, packed with great family-friendly experiences. On your next family day out, have some farm time, adventure through ocean tunnels or meet local heroes. Keep little ones and big kids wide-eyed and engaged at these top Bangkok attractions.

Family Farm Time

Leave the hustle and bustle behind and get back to nature at one of two farm-themed restaurants. Both around one hour’s drive from the CBD, uncover a different side of Bangkok while you take in the peace and quiet.

At Baan 1000 Mai Cafe & Farm, your kids can interact with ducklings, chickens and sheep. Experience the mini-farm; plant rice, water crops and make century eggs. Canoe on the pond or make sculptures and glass deco at the art space. Grab a salad, bakery bite or some organic produce at the cafe, then try out the treehouse and swing.

For an authentic farm experience, head to Montreux Cafe & Farm. Set among the rice fields, this place has a small village feel where the kids can hand feed the chickens and fish, collect eggs and plant rice. Create as a family; colour plaster dolls and do some drawing, then enjoy some fried chicken or a spicy Thai glass noodle salad while you look over the rice paddies.

SEA LIFE Bangkok

This aquatic wonderland is one of the largest in Southeast Asia. Featuring world-class exhibits and more than 5,000 marine creatures, you can’t miss SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World. See aquatic animals from all depths and regions in this family attraction. And it’s easy to get to – located in the basement of Siam Paragon.

The Shark Walk is jawsome fun! With just a thin sheet of acrylic between you and a tank of incredible Sand Tiger, Leopard and Blacktip Reef Sharks. Get to know these often misunderstood creatures better; uncover their habits and habitats on the interactive screens.

Then check out the mischievous Gentoo Penguins in the Penguin Ice Playground. Watch as these cheeky birds dart and dive below the surface or waddle around on the ice. You’ll feel as if you’re in the Antarctic with the snowy and cold climate.

To see the secret side of this aquarium, take the behind-the-scenes tour. You’ll be shown the special Aquatic Quarantine and Nursery Centre, and learn about keeping the water pristine at the water quality monitoring laboratory. Take this in-depth opportunity to get hands-on with ocean exploration equipment.

Madame Tussauds Bangkok

Located on the 4th floor of the Siam Discovery Center shopping mall, Madame Tussauds Bangkok is not just filled with pretty faces. Big on entertainment value, as well as learning opportunities, the family can get close to celebrities, world luminaries, change-makers, sports stars, artists and royalty. Throughout the 10 themed zones, meet celebrated Asian personalities, powerful spiritual and political leaders and notable arts and science legends to name a few.

The kids can step into the limelight with Rock and Pop icons; steal the scene with big-screen names, and work on their Kung Fu moves with Bruce Lee. Watch them shimmy up to Bollywood actors and rub shoulders with TV megastars. They’ll love you for the social-cred; plenty of selfies with the A-Listers.

Muay Thai for Kids

For families with kids aged 5+, you can catch Muay Thai Live from Tuesday-Sunday at 8pm. This is a dazzling spectacle that showcases a dynamic combo: performances mixed with the ancient martial art of Muay Thai boxing. For a fun-filled night out with the entire family, get an insight into the skill behind the sport. Suitable for younger ones, it’s located in Asiatique Night Market, where there’s a tremendous after-dark vibe featuring loads of shops and restaurants to explore before or after the show.
