We're hosting an ‘Otter Week’ with lots of fund raising activities to raise cash for an otter conservation project with the Canal and River Trust.
What's happening during Otter Week?
Monday 15th: Join us as we kick off Otter Week with Dress like an Otter Day! Everyone is invited to join in and all who arrive in Otter dress-up will receive 50% off admission into the centre! Monday also marks the beginning of the auction of Otter Bench to raise funds for the Canal and River Trust and we’ll have lots of opportunities to learn more about our otters with extended talks and discussions.
Tuesday 16th: Come and see our amazing Asian short-clawed Otters! Take part in extended Otter talks and discussions and find out about the threats otters face and what we can all do to help protect them.
Wednesday 17th: Our Otter Keeper will be spending A Day in the Life of an Otter! Rob will be hanging up his hammock inside the enclosure and living like an otter for a whole 24 hours, including a sleepover with our otters Kiwi, Mango and Apricot!
Thursday 18th: We’ll be joined by the team at the Canal and River Trust on Thursday! Find out more about our local canals and rivers and the wildlife that makes its home here, including playful and elusive otters.
Friday 19th: National SEA LIFE Birmingham will be teaming up with the Canal and River Trust to clean up the canal that surrounds our centre! Everyone is welcome to join in and help the environment and local wildlife, and participants will receive £5 off entry voucher into the centre that day!
Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st: All weekend we’ll be hosting Otterly fantastic activities including badge making and face painting near our Otter Sanctuary! Sunday will also mark the end of the auction for our Otter Bench, with all proceeds going to the Canal and River Trust to help with Otter conservation projects. We’ll also be visited by the Canal and River Trust Team who will be letting visitors know how they can help the UK’s wonderful otters.
