What will I see when I visit SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium?

You will be amazed by the wide variety of fish we have in our 1.3 million gallon aquarium! With thousands of sea creatures, you will see everything from freshwater stingrays and four-foot Alligator gar to 350-pound Sea turtles and gigantic Sand tiger sharks! Touch real sea creatures in the Pacific Northwest Rockpool and come nose to nose with creepy crawlie creatures in the NEW Brave the Rainforest!

How long does a visit to SEA LIFE last?

It takes approximately an hour to complete a visit at SEA LIFE; however, you may take as little or as long as you need to experience the entire attraction.

Aquarium Tip: For an easier experience, please leave strollers in the car or at home if you are able.

Can I leave and re-enter the aquarium?

Yes – admission to SEA LIFE is valid all day. You will need a handstamp and your ticket for re-entry.  Capacity limits may delay re-entry.

As with many businesses, we are actively monitoring the situation with regards to the outbreak of Covid-19 coronavirus and are in regular contact with health authorities.  Please refer to our Safety FAQs to learn about our enhanced cleaning regimes and safety precautions for our guests and staff.

If you are planning on visiting SEA LIFE Aquarium from an area that has been directly affected by the coronavirus AND if you are showing symptoms similar to those associated with the virus (for example:  fever, cough, breathlessness), we please politely ask that do not visit SEA LIFE Aquarium and instead contact immediately your local health authority or doctor for further advice and instruction. Please then contact SEA LIFE Aquarium or your travel agent, regarding your booking.

How do I buy tickets?

We have many different options for booking and purchasing tickets. We recommend that you buy tickets online in advance because it is the easiest way to guarantee entry and save.

You may also buy tickets over the phone at 952-853-0612 and, when available, purchase walk-up tickets at the door. Please note that walk-up tickets may not be available during peak periods like weekends, holidays and during times of high school and group volume.

Can I buy tickets in advance?

Yes. You may purchase tickets online at www.visitsealife.com/minnesota/tickets

You may also purchase group tickets (for groups of 10+) by calling our group sales office at at (952) 853-0612, or by emailing sales@sealifeus.com.

How much does it cost to visit SEA LIFE at Mall of America?

Tickets purchased at the door are $24.99+tax for adult admission (ages 13+) and $19.99+tax for child admission (ages 3-12). Children 2 years and under are free. Discounted tickets are available online.

Where should we park/drop off students?

All buses should drop off students at the North entrance. Buses will also park at the North entrance.

How many chaperones are included per group?

One free chaperone is allowed per five students for classroom programs. Teachers are included when determining the number of chaperones. Additional chaperones will be charged an admission fee. Advanced reservations are required. SEA LIFE reserves the right to request that chaperones remain in the exhibit area if classrooms have too many participants.

What if someone in the group has special needs?

To ensure the best possible experience, please call in advance to make arrangements for children with special needs. SEA LIFE at Mall of America is completely wheelchair accessible.

Is there space available for our group to eat lunch?

SEA LIFE at Mall of America does not have an on-site lunch area for your students. We would be happy to store your lunches in a designated area during your group’s adventure. Many groups choose to eat their bagged lunches in one of the Mall of America food courts.

How do I book a field trip or group trip?

To make reservations, please call us at 952-853-0612 or email sales@sealifeus.com. Reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.

When is my payment due?

Payment is due in full two weeks in advance. We do not accept purchase orders.

What materials will I receive after I book the field trip?

Once you’ve made your reservation, we will email you a confirmation letter, invoice, directions, bus parking information and other related information to make your visit easy and enjoyable. Please return your signed contract within one week of receiving it.

What if our group is running late?

If your group is late, we may be required to adjust or cut components of your program. Please contact us to let us know that you are running late.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you decide to cancel your education program or reduce the number of attendees, we require at least two weeks notice. We are unable to refund admission and program fees if you have fewer attendees than the number reserved. Schools reserve the right to reschedule visits due to inclement weather and SEA LIFE at Mall of America reserves the right to cancel classes at any time.

During your visit, we wish to reassure you that SEA LIFE Aquarium is taking all possible steps to minimize the risk of contagion, including the implementation of enhanced cleaning regimes throughout SEA LIFE Aquarium. Rest assured, we will continue to act quickly should we be required to do so and will take all necessary precautions to protect the welfare of our guests and staff.

We ask all our guests to observe high standards of personal hygiene while visiting SEA LIFE Aquarium. There are simple things you can do to help prevent the spread of the virus, including:

  • Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • Putting used tissues in the bin immediately
  • Washing your hands with soap and hot water regularly, and using hand sanitizer gel
  • Trying to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.

Throughout SEA LIFE Aquarium, we have placed additional hand sanitizers in convenient locations for guests, and we politely ask that you use them regularly.

If you do feel unwell during your visit, please contact a member of staff immediately – maintaining a safe distance of 6 feet where possible.

Does SEA LIFE Minnesota offer a military discount?

All active military and veterans can receive $16.99 discounted admission! You must purchase these tickets at the SEA LIFE at Mall of America box office and show your valid military or veteran ID to receive the discount. The discount is also valid for all members of the family/friends in their group. Up to 10 discounts per group with military ID.

Does SEA LIFE Minnesota offer a AAA discount?

Yes - save $4 off any admission by showing your AAA card! Tickets must be purchased from the SEA LIFE at Mall of America box office upon arrival and a valid AAA card must be presented to receive discount. Up to 10 discounts per group with AAA card.

Is SEA LIFE difficult to find if I don’t park on the east side?

SEA LIFE is conveniently located on the first floor of the Mall of America. Walk to the East side of Mall of America and if you are on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th levels simply take the East elevators or escalators down to level one.

Aquarium Tip: For an easier experience, please leave strollers in the car or at home if you are able.

Where should I park?

The best place to park is level one on the East side of the Mall. SEA LIFE at Mall of America's entrance is on the first floor next to the Rotunda.

Is SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium wheelchair and stroller accessible?

Yes, the attraction is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. We have an elevator located on the first floor near our main entrance to access the attraction. Mall of America does offer stroller and wheelchair rentals – Learn More.

We are excited to share that SEA LIFE at Mall of America is NOW OPEN daily!

Please note that due to local authority guidance, face coverings must be worn at all times to cover the nose and mouth. Children ages 5 and under are exempt. We would also ask that if you are feeling ill or displaying symptoms associated with COVID-19 that you stay home and refrain from visiting the attraction at this time.
