KS2 Layers of The Ocean
The ocean is composed of various layers or zones, and it is incredibly deep.
Students have the opportunity to develop sensory maps based on the amount of light each ocean zone receives. They can also conduct an experiment to create a layered ‘Ocean in a Jar’
KS2 Inheritance and variation
In this lesson we can learn more about inherited characteristics among living
animals. Your class will learn that variation occurs within offspring as well as
across a species and they will be able to tell the difference between inherited
and environmental characteristics.
KS2 What the Ocean Means
Embark on a journey to explore the significance of our oceans. Students will
create a persuasive poster campaign to preserve this invaluable resource.
KS2 Ocean Pollution
Let’s reduce, reuse and recycle waste to protect the oceans. By using less plastic and finding ways to reuse and recycle products we can prevent pollution and the harm it causes to marine life.
Incredible Sea Creatures
In this lesson your class will dive into the wonderful world of sea
creatures and the ocean. They will get to put on their thinking caps and
come up with a list of questions to ask during their visit to Sealife,
backed up by self-created fact cards for three amazing sea creatures.
KS2 Creative writing
In this lesson your class will be encouraged to get creative based on their Sealife
visit and produce a short piece of prosed or poetry from their experience,
memories and photographs of their day at the National Sealife centre.
