Step inside the Little Blue Penguins’ habitat at SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast for the Penguin Encounter, where you can meet our adorable colony of birds and handfeed them a fishy feast!
Penguin Encounter
Each one of our playful penguins has a distinct personality, which you can get to know as you feed the birds their banquet and watch up close as they waddle, swim and play!
The Penguin Encounter includes a unique behind the scenes tour where you can discover how we care for these cheeky little creatures and ask our team of penguin experts anything you want to know.
This Penguin Encounter runs on the following days:
- During Queensland school holidays from Thursday - Monday at 9:45am
- Outside of Queensland school holidays on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday at 9:45am
If you are buying the General Admission + Penguin Encounter ticket, you can enter the aquarium as off 9:00am with your ticket. This gives you plenty of time to explore all the other amazing zones SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast has to offer.
Guests must be aged 5+ to participate; all guests under 13 must be accompanied by a participating adult (there are 4 encounters available per session).
Places are limited, so book early!
What's Included?

- Feed, meet and get up close to our beautiful and cheeky penguins.
- Come into our penguin exhibit, see what our penguins eat and learn how we care for them.
- Includes an exclusive and unique behind the scenes tour in the penguin area.
- During your Penguin Encounter, there will be a dedicated photographer to capture your experience with the penguins - one free photo is included.
Further Details
- There are only limited spaces available daily so bookings are essential.
- The Penguin Encounter is offered from Thursdays to Mondays.
- Participants must be at least 5 years of age.
- Guests under 13 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
- This experience cannot be carried out whilst pregnant.
- During the experience, all jewellery or items on hands and wrists must be removed. If items can not be removed, guests are unable to participate in the experience.
- If you have a sea food allergy of any kind you are unable to participate in the experience.
- Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times.
- Must not be in contact with birds 24 hours prior to the Encounter *This includes: handling of birds(s), cage, food, water & toys.
