Paint your own pebble!

"During Gentoo Penguins courtship period, male and female penguins will scour the ice for the perfect pebble and present it to their sweetheart as a gift. If accepted and a partnership formed, they will continue to collect pebbles until a nest is built."

Create your own master piece with our Gentoo pebbles! Join us for a session of Pebble Painting. 

Back by popular demand, we are inviting Kelly Tarlton's Annual Pass members and Merlin Annual Pass members to come and paint the pebbles used by our gorgeous Gentoo penguins to build their nests last season.

Event dates: Thursday 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th June 2022 

Session starts: 10am (participants must join by 11.15am)

Session finishes: 12pm

Location: Turtle Bay Cafe by the Rockpools

How to book?

• Maximum 14 participants at a time
• Spots are on first come first served basis
• There's no need to reserve your spot, you are welcome to join in anytime between 10am - 11.15am,  speak to our Guest Experience Host when you arrive at our activity station at Turtle Bay.

Please note:

1. This is a members' only event. Only participate if you are a current Kelly Tarlton's Annual Pass or Merlin Annual Pass member. Annual Passes will be scanned at the time of entry. (Note: to check if your membership is still valid, visit our Annual Pass page, simply enter your details and check your pass expiry. Alternatively you can email operations@kellytarltons.co.nz)
2. One pebble per participant.
3. Entry is free if you are an Annual Pass member. There's no additional cost to join this event. 
4. If you are not an Annual Pass member, but are accompanying a member who will be painting, you should pre-purchase your General Admission ticket.
5. Suitable for children 3-15 years old. Adults are welcome to join.
6. All children must enter the attraction with an adult 16 years or over.
7. Event dates are - 9th June, 16th June, 23rd June, 30th June at 10am - 12pm only. 
8. Allow 45 minutes to 1 hour for painting. We will collect the pebbles for drying and vanishing after the event.
9. You can collect the pebble on your next visit.
10. By attending this event, you agree to be photographed and/or filmed and give permission to use your likeness in promotional and/or marketing materials.
