Shark Weeks - Get involved

  • Friday 22nd November 2013

In partnership with Discovery Channel's Shark Week, Underwater World will be celebrating sharks – one of the most misunderstood animals in the world. From 25 November – 20 December we are encouraging all visitors to make a pledge to become "Fin Free", with the target of 100,000 signatures accross our family of SEA LIFE aquariums!

Make a difference

Every year over 70 million sharks are killed by shark finning and as bycatch from unsustainable fishing, and experts believe that 90% of the ocean’s sharks have already disappeared!

Get involved with our Shark Weeks and help protect an essential part of the ocean ecosystem.

Visitors during Shark Weeks will also get to learn all about sharks including the threats they face, where they live, and lots of other fascinating facts - with information for both kids and adults alike.
