Ignite your senses on an underwater journey at SEA LIFE Sydney and experience the best of Australian marine life before you immerse yourself in the explosion of light and colour that is Fantastic Oceans and Liquid Light 

Get up close and personal to over 13,000 creatures, including massive Grey Nurse Sharks, adorable Antarctic penguins and our curious rescue turtles as you journey through eight beautifully themed zones.

Heading to Sydney with your family for VIVID? There are so many things to see and do throughout this festival, so how do you decide? That’s what we are here for, to curate your most dazzling day.

You and your family have just checked in to the Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour right in the heart of all the action. You step outside to the crisp sunny Autumn Day, a musician is busking along the harbour, everyone is out with smiles on their faces.

Head across Pyrmont Bridge to WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. Where you can meet the weird and wonderful Night Creatures of the night, but during the day! Say hello to our cheeky Tasmanian Devils, slither up close to our Woma Python William and tip toe up to our shy Bilby, Opal. Get your face painted in the Nightfall zone so it’s ready to GLOW for VIVID that night

After having encounters with the fun and playful animals you may hear a distant grumble, no it is not thunder but your stomach wanting some food. Helm Bar and Bistro right next door is the place to go, with mouth-watering burgers, delicious fish and chips, there is something for even the pickiest of eaters.

Once lunch is done it’s time to meet some more creatures of the night, but from the deep in the ocean. Head on down to SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium where the bubbling of the dark water could hide a Moray eel or even a Blacktip Reef Shark. Can you answer the questions on the FREE glow in the dark activity sheet? Explore under the sea creatures and you will find the answers you seek.

After a day of incredible animal encounters, it’s time for the sun to go down and the lights to come out! With your glow-in-the-dark face paint from WILD LIFE and SEA LIFE you are bound to stand out amongst the glittering lights.

With so many lights scattered throughout the city, the best place to see them is up high. Take a short stroll up to the iconic Sydney Tower EYE and see the lights from 250m. Watch the Harbour Bridge turn on, the Opera house dazzled in an art and light display. If you are feeling adventurous book on for the SKYWALK and see the lights even closer at 268m high, this outdoor adventure is one not to miss.

Breakfast for dinner you say, we say yes! Indulge your tastebuds with all the sweetness of a chocolate pancake and you can’t forget the runny, golden syrup. This can all be found at Pancakes on the Rocks or at Darling Harbour depending how far you want to go.

With stomachs full, it’s back on out for all the light displays, see the Harbour Bridge all lit up, the Opera house full of colour. As you wander through the streets of Sydney, soak up all the fun and make your way back to Darling Harbour.  When you come across Darling Quarter’s interactive Light display campground, be very quiet walking through or you may just wake up a camper. This is when you become the creature of the night.

Finish off the evening with Darling Harbour’s brilliant light show spectacular. It has fireworks, it has lights, it has sparkles. This light show is one of the highlights of VIVID.

Then it is off to bed after a long day of creating sensational memories
