Shark Weeks - Get Involved

  • Friday 22nd November 2013

In partnership with Discovery Channel's Shark Week, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium will be celebrating sharks - one of the most misunderstood animals in the world from 25 November - 20 December 2013 and encouraging visitors to pledge to become 'Fin Free', with the target of 100,000 signatures.

Make a difference

Every year over 70 million sharks are killed by shark finning and as bycatch from fishing, and experts believe 90% of the ocean's sharks have already disappeared! Get involved with Shark Weeks and help protect an essential part of the ocean ecosystem.

Visitors during Shark Weeks will also get to learn all about sharks including the threats they face, where they live, and lots of other fascinating facts.

How to get involved:

  • Sign our Fin Free pledge
  • Avoid shark fin products
  • Spread the word
