SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Annual Pass Terms & Conditions
Introductory Terms
1. These are the terms and conditions ("Terms") on which Merlin Entertainments (Australia) Pty Ltd (“Merlin Entertainments Group”, “we” or “us”) we supply SEA LIFE annual passes ("SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Annual Pass") to you ("Passholder" or "you"). Please read these Terms carefully before you submit your order for any SEA LIFE Annual Pass to us. These Terms tell you who we are, how we will provide the SEA LIFE Annual Pass to you, what to do if there is a problem and other important information.
2. By purchasing a SEA LIFE Annual Pass you agree to be bound by and comply with these Terms and Conditions of use as amended from time to time. In addition, the purchase and use of a SEA LIFE Annual Pass must at all times be in accordance with the regulations of SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium, copies of which are displayed at the Attraction or can be obtained on the attraction websites, which can be accessed via www.visitsealife.com/sunshine-coast/. By purchasing a SEA LIFE Annual Pass you agree to be bound by and comply with the regulations for SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium in respect of your use of your SEA LIFE Annual Pass.
3. A SEA LIFE Annual Pass will only be valid when it is used and/or presented by the person in whose name the SEA LIFE Annual Pass was issued (identification may be required), it is presented by a person who is a true likeness to the photograph of the pass holder on the SEA LIFE Annual Pass, and the SEA LIFE Annual Pass is within the validity period (as defined in clause 14). The actual digital issued version (and not just a screenshot of it) must be presented for entry at an attraction - photocopies of a SEA LIFE Annual Pass will not be accepted.
4. Any use of a SEA LIFE Annual Pass in breach of these terms and conditions or the relevant attraction regulations will result in the SEA LIFE Annual Pass being revoked without compensation. For the avoidance of doubt, pass sharing is a breach of these terms and conditions and any attempted use of a SEA LIFE Annual Pass by someone other than the valid pass holder, regardless of reason, will result in the SEA LIFE Annual Pass being revoked without compensation to the holder.
Types of SEA LIFE Annual Passes
5. From the 9 March 2026, there will be four different SEA LIFE annual passes available for purchase;
(a) SEA LIFE Sydney Annual Pass
(b) SEA LIFE Melbourne Annual Pass
(c) SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Annual Pass
(d) SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Annual Pass
6. These Terms will apply differently to the various types of SEA LIFE Annual Passes, as further specified below. Please note, these terms and conditions do not apply to the Merlin Annual Pass, which is a separate Annual Pass product with different terms and conditions. Merlin Annual Pass terms and conditions can be found at www.merlinannualpass.com.au.
(a) SEA LIFE Sydney Annual Pass is only valid for admission to SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, and no other SEA LIFE or Merlin Entertainments attractions. Please note, the SEA LIFE Sydney Annual Pass is not valid for entry on a limited number of selected dates each year. Dates detailed below in clause 15.
(b) SEA LIFE Melbourne Annual Pass is only valid for admission to SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium, and no other SEA LIFE or Merlin Entertainments attractions. Please note, the SEA LIFE Melbourne Annual Pass is not valid for entry on a limited number of selected dates each year. Dates detailed below in clause 15.
(c) SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Annual Pass is only valid for admission to SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium, and no other SEA LIFE or Merlin Entertainments attractions.
(d) SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Annual Pass is only valid for admission to SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s, Auckland Aquarium, and no other SEA LIFE or Merlin Entertainments attractions.
7. The SEA LIFE Annual Pass is purchased as an ‘Individual Pass’, valid for people aged 2 and over. From 9 March 2026, there will be no child or adult.
Issue of SEA LIFE Annual Passes
8. Each SEA LIFE Annual Pass purchaser will be issued his or her own SEA LIFE Annual Pass and as a condition of purchase, they will be required to supply the following:
(a) their first name and surname;
(b) their date of birth;
(c) their residential address;
(d) a contact telephone number;
(e) a contact email address (if they have one); and
(f) a photograph which must be a true likeness of the holder.
9. Each child or adult will be issued with his or her own SEA LIFE Annual Pass and, for the avoidance of doubt, each person will be required to supply the details listed in clause 9 and each member will be considered to be a “Passholder” for the purposes of these Terms.
10. The purchaser of a SEA LIFE Annual Pass must be aged 18 years or over.
Attractions
11. The Merlin Entertainments Group attractions that are part of the SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Annual Pass scheme in Australia and New Zealand are: SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium only (the “Attraction”).
12. Other Merlin Entertainments Group attractions in Australia and New Zealand, and throughout the world are not part of the SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Annual Pass scheme.
13. The Merlin Entertainments Group, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to vary the opening and closing dates of the Attraction and to close, remove or cancel all or any part of the facilities within the Attraction for any reason including, but not limited to, technical, health and safety and/or operational reasons or due to special events or private functions. For the avoidance of doubt, the full value or any part of the value of the SEA LIFE Annual Pass will not be refunded nor will any compensation be payable if any of the Attraction become unavailable or if any or part of any of the Attraction is closed or removed from the SEA LIFE Annual Pass scheme.
Entry to Attractions
14. A SEA LIFE Annual Pass entitles each Passholder to admission to the Attraction for a period of 12 months from the date of issue until the “valid until’ date (“Validity Period”) and may only be used in accordance with the operating calendars of the Attraction and any applicable exclusion dates/events. The ‘valid until’ date will be clearly identified on the SEA LIFE Annual Pass digital pass when issued, however a Passholder holder is responsible for checking the Attraction opening and closing dates before visiting.
15. Entry date restrictions, or ‘blackout days’, vary for the different SEA LIFE Annual Pass varieties. There are no restrictions or ‘blackout days’ applied for the SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Annual Pass, which allows entry to the Attractions for 12 months.
16. To use a SEA LIFE Annual Pass for standard entry to an Attraction, the Passholder must present a valid SEA LIFE Annual Pass at the admissions office, turnstile or other authorised entry point of the Attraction.
17. A SEA LIFE Annual Pass is only valid for standard entry to the Attraction.
18. A SEA LIFE Annual Pass is subject to additional charges as advised by Merlin Entertainments Group from time to time for entry into:
(a) any special events taking place at the Attraction;
(b) any additional tours or experiences, including, but not limited to:
(i) Shark Dive Xtreme;
(ii) Behind the Scenes Tours;
(iii) Animal Experiences (such as Penguin Encounters);
(iv) Special events;
(v) Birthday Parties, Weddings, Corporate Events; or
(vi) Packages, and combination tickets.
(c) any other event as determined by Merlin Entertainments Group from time to time in its sole discretion.
19. Possession or use of the SEA LIFE Annual Pass does not guarantee immediate entry of the Passholder to the Attraction during peak times.
20. Possession of a SEA LIFE Annual Pass does not guarantee entry to the Attraction. The management of the Attraction reserves the right to refuse admission for any reason as provided by each Attraction’s regulations including, but not being limited to, the Attraction reaching full capacity.
21. Entry to the Attraction by use of a SEA LIFE Annual Pass will not be permitted in the event that a valid verified SEA LIFE Annual Pass cannot be presented for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to, access to the SEA LIFE Annual Pass being lost through no longer having access to the account or device on or through which the SEA LIFE Annual Pass can be retrieved, Failure to present a valid verified SEA LIFE Annual Pass will result in a charge of the “on the day” admission rate applicable to the Attraction, which will be non-refundable. Merlin reserves the right not to honour a SEA LIFE Annual Pass if Merlin reasonably suspects the Merlin Annual Pass has been stolen or copied.
22. Passholders are required to pre-book timeslots prior to their visit to the Attraction. Time-slots are free of charge and can be booked online for each Attraction; however, immediate entry may not be guaranteed depending on the availability on the day of your visit.
(a) Pre-booking online for is essential during weekends, school holidays and on public holidays to be admitted entry, for those passes which are valid for these dates.
Renewal
23. Once a SEA LIFE Annual Pass reaches its expiry date the Passholder will qualify for a special renewal offer provided that he or she renews their SEA LIFE Annual Pass within 8 weeks of expiry and is able to present their expired SEA LIFE Annual Pass when making the renewal. The Validity Period for the new SEA LIFE Annual Pass will commence on the ‘valid until’ date of the expired SEA LIFE Annual Pass.
24. A SEA LIFE Annual Pass that is not renewed within 8 weeks of expiration will no longer qualify for the renewal rate and the full price of a new SEA LIFE Annual Pass will be chargeable.
Other
25. All SEA LIFE Annual Passes remain the property of The Merlin Entertainments Group. SEA LIFE Annual Passes are non-transferable and cannot be sold, loaned or given away to or used by any person other than the Passholder. Access will be denied to an Passholder to the Attraction in the event of fraud or misuse of the SEA LIFE Annual Pass. The SEA LIFE Annual Pass will be cancelled and withdrawn from any person whose conduct is deemed to be inappropriate in the absolute discretion of Merlin Entertainments Group. Inappropriate conduct includes, but is not limited to, allowing or assisting a third party to attempt to gain unauthorised or improper access to any Attraction with a SEA LIFE Annual Pass of which they are not the valid Passholder. For the avoidance of doubt no refund or other consideration (monetary or otherwise) will be given to the Passholder for cancellation in such circumstances.
26. A SEA LIFE Annual Pass that is discovered to have been purchased through illegal methods will be cancelled without compensation.
27. A lost, stolen and/or damaged SEA LIFE Annual Pass should be reported to Merlin Entertainments Group through the Attraction immediately. Contact details for the Attraction can be found on the SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast website (www.visitsealife.com/sunshine-coast/).
28. In the event of a lost, stolen and/or damaged SEA LIFE Annual Pass, Merlin Entertainments Group will re-issue the Passholder with a replacement SEA LIFE Annual Pass. Up to three replacement SEA LIFE Annual Passes can be issued during the Validity Period. Replacement SEA LIFE Annual Passes will only be issued at the Attraction to the individual whose details have been provided in accordance with clause 9 and on presentation of identification to confirm the identity of the Passholder. An administration fee of $20 will be charged for the re-issue of each lost or damaged SEA LIFE Annual Pass. The re-issue of stolen SEA LIFE Annual Passes will also be subject to the $20 re-issue fee unless the holder can provide Merlin Entertainments Group with a relevant crime reference number when requesting that the SEA LIFE Annual Pass is re-issued.
29. Unless stated otherwise, a SEA LIFE Annual Pass cannot be used in conjunction with any promotional offer, voucher or advance booking or with any other offer, discount or retail/restaurant incentive of the Attraction.
30. Refunds and exchanges of SEA LIFE Annual Passes are not available after purchase, other than as required by law in accordance with your statutory rights as a consumer in compliance with the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
31. Merlin Entertainments Group is entitled to use Passholder’s details to contact them in relation to service information, including, but not being limited to, information about changes to these Terms, expiry and/or renewal reminders. Merlin Entertainments Group will not use Passholder’s details for marketing purposes unless that Passholder has opted in to receive such information at the time of purchasing the SEA LIFE Annual Pass. Merlin Entertainments Group Privacy Policy will apply in respect of the collection, storage, use and dissemination by us of your personal information obtained through the purchase of a SEA LIFE Annual Pass.
32. The Merlin Entertainments Group is entitled, in its absolute discretion, to change the price payable for its SEA LIFE Annual Pass at any time and for any reason and may from time to time offer pricing or promotional offers at the Attraction, online, via telephone or through third party channels.
33. The Merlin Entertainments Group reserves the right to vary these by giving Passholders no less than 30 days written notice of such variation by using the details provided in accordance with clause 9.
34. On the presentation of a SEA LIFE Annual Pass, Passholders may receive discounts and/or benefits from third parties. Such third parties are subject to change. Merlin Entertainments Group is entitled to remove and/or withdraw any or all third party discounts and/or benefits in its absolute discretion at any time and for any reason.
35. SEA LIFE Annual Passholders may be entitled to passholder rewards from time to time. Visit www.visitsealife.com/sunshine-coast/ to see the currently available rewards and their terms and conditions. The rewards are subject to availability and Merlin Entertainments Group is entitled to remove and/or withdraw any or all rewards in its absolute discretion at any time and for any reason.
