Embark on a journey of discovery into one of the ocean’s most intriguing sea creatures at our Jellies 101 event on the evening of Thursday 20 February.
From 6pm – 9pm, the aquarium will host a one-off 18+ soirée with drinks, canapes and a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring Australia’s leading jellyfish expert, Dr Lisa-Ann Gershwin from The Jellyfish App, and our resident jellyfish-iando, Jarvis Aland.
With a 500 million year history, ethereal beauty and the potential to be deadly, jellyfish are one of the most fascinating creatures in the ocean! These brainless, heartless organisms are made up of 95% water and can grow to 36m in length!
Taking place the new Ocean Invaders zone, guests will be surrounded by multiple species of this gelatinous sea creature whilst learning from industry experts about jellyfish identification, separating fact from fiction and finding out what is causing the increasing prevalence – or invasion – of certain species of jellyfish in the ocean!
