We combine hands-on experiences with fascinating educational workshops to make sure that your pupils learn the most about our amazing aquatic world!

Schools Love SEA LIFE Manchester!

We've been rated the best destination for Science based learning!

SEA LIFE Manchester offers you an astonishing aquarium experience where you and your pupils will get up close to our fascinating creatures from captivating sharks over humble starfish and seahorses to graceful ray.
Younger pupils’ curiosity will be peaked as they become top rock pool explorers while older students can learn more about our local conservation initiatives and our Breed, Rescue, Protect projects.

We work closely with schools to develop information that engages and inspires young people and is also relevant within the educational curriculum. Self-guided tours and educational workshops are available for schools on a daily basis.
If you’re hungry for more, we give daily creature presentations and a Behind the Scenes Tour where our expert staff will fill you in on the daily diet of our creatures, and the breeding habits of seahorses.

Throughout the year, we host a program of fun events, like Turtle Fest and Shark Week, to raise awareness of marine conservation issues and threats to our sea creatures.

Teacher benefits include:
- Special school rates and free teacher places
- Free learning packs and risk assessments
- Early years, KS1- KS2 workshops
- Free planning tickets for teachers
- Experts on hand throughout your visit

Please note: School bookings for the year 2018 will be available shortly.

Early Years

My Special Aquarium

This workshop is suitable for pre-school children aged 3 to 5 years. It gives your pupils a fun and memorable experience that helps them to ‘understand the world’ - one of the four learning and development requirements of the DfE Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

It involves the children learning basic facts about some of our key creatures (e.g. how many legs do starfish have etc…). After this group activity the pupils complete a poster activity and draw their own aquarium.
